Presidential Handover Ceremony at Coach Lane

David Kiely from Jennings and O’Donovan Consulting Engineers took over the Chain of Office as President of Sligo Chamber from Catriona Walsh at a special ceremony held in Coach Lane Restaurant on Thursday 19th February. Over 90 Chamber members and guests attended the event to mark this special occasion which was sponsored by Avenue Mould Solutions in Finisklin.
In his initial Presidential address, David spoke of how the Business community of Sligo wanted to see further development of the ongoing excellent public private collaboration ongoing in County Sligo. Specifically, he called for the creation of a structured and resourced public/private entity with a capacity to promote tourism and investment throughout the County. In addition, he said that 2015 would see a substantial increase in business training facilities to support business throughout the county.
Guests included Ciarán Hayes, CEO of Sligo County Council and Dr Vincent Cunnane, President of IT Sligo. In welcoming the guests David pointed to the linkage of Enterprise, Employment and Education and stated that Sligo is well positioned to maximise its potential if the current levels of collaboration are developed and nurtured in a structured way.
