Chair of IDA Ireland to be Guest of Honour at Chamber Annual Dinner

Sligo Chamber is delighted to announce that Mr. Frank Ryan, Chairman of IDA Ireland, will be the guest speaker at its Annual Gala Dinner to be held in the Sligo Park Hotel on Saturday 14th November 2015.
Frank Ryan took up his role with IDA Ireland on 1st January 2014, following over 35 years working in economic development and having retired as Chief Executive of Enterprise Ireland in 2013.
IDA Ireland is responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland. Its focus is to attract foreign investment that is of high value, requiring high skill levels and a sophisticated business environment.
Chamber President David Kiely said “All of our members, to varying degrees, are either directly or indirectly beneficiaries of Foreign Direct Investment and the work of the IDA. We are very conscious here in Sligo of how our existing FDI base assisted our wider economy in weathering the financial crises and we also look forward towards widening that base with the assistance of the IDA”.
Chamber CEO, Paul Keyes said: “We are delighted that Frank Ryan is going to join us as our Guest of Honour. Foreign Direct Investment plays a fundamental role in the economic development of Sligo and the North West Region of Ireland. We look forward towards listening to Frank, particularly in the context of his wide experience of economic development and also in the context of IDA Ireland’s current strategy which aims to see the benefits of foreign direct investment flow as widely as possible throughout Ireland.”
